If you Blink you lose

Blink made her way into a large cavern deep underground Ithteca's mountain side. She had heard the rumors, of people venturing into the deepest sections of the mines, and never returning. She had found some evidence of such along the way: ribcages, spines, skulls. All human. Thankfully, most of these unfortunate travelers were carrying some firepower, and she had plentiful opportunities to restock on ammunition and gear.

She made her way into the dome like section of cave. Stones all around her colored as deep red as her vest, her black hair held in it's high tail swaying against her back as she made her way down. Upon hitting the cave floor, she drew both of her revolvers, keeping their barrels pointed up as she scanned for any signs of the beast which clearly called this large edifice buried deep into the mountain it's home...

The silent, almost pitch blackness of the stone walls were eerie in their own right. the floor was concealed beneath a strange heavy fog, occasionally broken by rocky outcropings, stalagmites, and the piles of long dead bones.

However, the eerie mysticism turned sinister as the caverns and mineshafts turned crimson, and the mist became blood red in the new light.

"Who dares bring the warmth of mortal life into my lair?"

The sephulcral, multilayered voice was laced with malice and killing intent.

At the far end of the cavern, Blink would see the outlined shadow of something... huge. It's form moving slightly, and it's ridged back was alight with what appeared to be cracks of magma.



Floating in flank positions were what appeared to be two floating heads, with tiny, rotting vestigal limbs hanging limply beneath. Their great green cyclopean eyes focused on Blink with horrendous, inhuman bloodlust.

Blink narrowed her eyes, hunkering down slightly with her revolvers now trained on the large, sentient creature ahead of her. She could hardly cloak herself in the blood red mist, as she studied her mark in silence. Looks like molten rock, but what are those things? she thinks, before noting the large floating head like objects. At first, she only caught the glowing green orbs, but as she studied the floating creatures closely she could see how hideous they really were. "Well, those have certainly seen better days." she says outloud, her voice echoing. She lost the element of surprise the moment she dropped down. She stood up, weapons pointed up. "It's your house maid, I'm here to clean up *crunches heel onto bones* Ugh... looks like this place hasn't been clean for quite a while. No matter, with you three gone, it'll be a lot easier to pick up!" she says leveling the guns at the larger creature.

The monstrous demon emerged from the twilight shadows, revealing it's massive frame to Blink.



"The little human wishes to challenge the might of Hell... Foolish mortal creature. Terminate her." the monster spoke, as the two floating heads hissed angrily, and belched out their ball-lightning attacks as they drifted towards Blink in unusual flying patterns.

Blink's eyes widened, and she backed away. "Whoa... big and ugly, why I am not surprised..." she commented, as her attention turned towards the erratic floating heads charging towards her. She began to strafe, firing the twin .357 Custom rounds at her target, the explosive tipped rounds towards the floating head like creatures the large guns recoiling in her hands as she ran sideways through the mist.

The twin cacodemons didn't even flinch as the .357 rounds lodged into their thick hides, squirting a vile blue blood. The one signal that the creatures even felt pain was a mild grunting whine. The creatures however, seemed to increase in speed in their pursuit of Blink, regurgitating their deadly electrified plasma, zigzagging around eachother to throw their prey off.

She bit her lower lip, doing her best to avoid the electrified plasma spewing from their gnarly maws.

Blam blam- blam-blam- her guns bellowed, rolling to evade one of their plasma attacks just in time as the cave rock plumed with electricity. She could feel her hair nearly stand on end due to the high shock that was close to consuming her. She grunted, swinging her torso towards the twin demon's direction, momentarily placing the larger demon on the back burner to concentrate on these two balls of flesh. She tried to predict the erratic creature's movements as she pulled the trigger for each side arm once, finding it hard to place her shots. "Damn, these things are a nuisance-" she breathed, hopping back and to the right behind some cover, using her right hand gun to fire at the beasts to keep them busy while she reloaded her left hand's gun. She side broke the left handed revolver, the empty as well as the two loaded casings ejected and rattled upon the floor. After her right hand fired what was left in its eight capacity chamber to act as cover fire, she gracefully slid the empty right hand gun into the holster behind her and yanked a speed loader from the adjacent pack into the now empty chambers of her other gun. Swinging the frame back into position, she boarder shifted the weapon, throwing the revolver from her left hand into her open right hand, she pulled away from the rock face, aiming the weapon at the beasts.

They were closing in on her swiftly for such unnatural monsters, and as she backed away she began rummaging through her pack with her free left hand, grabbing another speed loader for her next reload, providing some modicum of cover fire by firing the loaded revolver twice, one bullet for each of the zig-zagging demons...

The creatures bobbed and weaved, using their flight powers in unnatural bursts of speed the moment Blink squeezed her triggers. However, a deep rumbling growl emitted from the great beast, and the Cacodemons seemingly retreated off to the sides, and disappeared from view, while the Guardian took in a deep breath, before unleashing a mighty stream of hellfire at the intruder. The intense flames scorched the cavern walls into magma, and chared the surrounding rock black in an instant.

"You are an agile little creature... but soon you'll be nothing more than ashes and dust..."
