Locke pulled the small rubber craft up onto the beach, well away from the roaring tide to keep it from stranding him out on this stretch of beach. The sand was coarse beneath him, and the humidity of the nearby jungle was quite palpable this close to the breaking waves. With his things in hand, on this private island to himself, Locke decided to move inland to feed his craving for exploration.
