Behind the temple, and close to the less torrential parts of Fuku River is a boat house that stores the compound's small boats for travel along the river to and from Fuku Shrine. Row boats and Kayaks are the main method of transport, as they improve physical activity amongst the girls attending the Temple as residential miko in training.
