She instinctivly pulled it away...then after some hesitation hands the crystal back to him. "Take care of her." she said with a very serious tone and expression.

Leland nodded, and took the precious stone gently. She was dead serious about this and he was gonna take care of it. "Don't sweat it, I know what I'm doing." he said as he slid the stone into his pocket. "Ok, so I'm your dog again...Let's get going." he said at last before walking away-a smile on his face.
