The Kadrej Estate

The Kadrej family are one of the city's lower "nobility". On one hand, they hold considerable money and resources. They control quite a few businesses, mostly run by lower-ranked family members, as well as patents on various technology. They deal mostly in these businesses and digital media nowadays, but in the past experimented in various fields. These include real estate, Kadrej plots still exist in multiple countries, computer science, and even a short stint in the arms business. This is the source of Nicolette's trademark prototype pistol.

However they rarely make real public appearances or the sort of innovations that would catch the eye of the average person. As a result, many haven't even heard of them. In fact their best known for their method of succession, in which the family head must eat or shrink their predecessor to take power, and the unusual "martial arts" that allow this. The Kadrej family is made up of strange skunk-like beings who are legally classified as Neko, though display strange and unique biological traits. Their multi-function spray being one of them. This method of succession is also what led to the family being led by an 8-year old girl, who now happily keeps her mother, the former head, in a hamster cage by her bed.

The estate is rather large and based around one core mansion, with a large lush garden surrounding it, and smaller outlaying buildings used by the staff and lesser relatives. In addition to their strange method of succession, the Kadrej family are a meritocracy, and power and prestige in the family comes from success in business ventures rather then closeness to the head in blood. The central mansion consists of 3 above ground stories, not counting the attics, and a significant underground portion, the size of which has not been revealed to the public.

Tifa walks down the road. It was rather pleasant out, and she began to walk down a side street which she hadn't taken. She was wondering what exactly to do, now that Bard had his bike back...she was pretty much stranded here. She yawns, closing her eyes before pausing. She turned to the right, noticing the large estate. She blinks, reading the engraved plate on the fence that stated: "Kadrej Estate".

She looks up, pondering. "Kadrej...Kadrej....sounds familiar, but I can't put a finger on it..." she states aloud, before closing her eyes and chuckle. "Ah well, must not be too important then...but still it sounds so familiar." she says walking away.
