Deep Within the Garage

Mizuki was having a bit of a weed problem in her garage. She couldn't imagine how it got that way! At first she noticed some vines growing out from the back, behind a heap of parts, and didn't think much of it. But as the vines started to spread, it frustrated her. She didn't mind the mess of metal in her garage, but she certainly didn't like the foliage that could possibly deter customers. She had tried tearing it down, using all types of herbicides, but nothing seemed to work. Every time she pulled the vines down, they grew back seemingly with more fervor. She stood in front of the mass of vines along her wall and ceiling, even some that started to take over her parts, and wondered what the hell she was to do about this issue.

One morning, she decided that enough was enough. Taking random parts she could get her hands on, Mizuki managed to create a makeshift flame thrower. At this point her weed problem had pretty much drained every once of her sanity and didn't care if she burned half the place down if it meant ending the problem. She descends the ladder from her living room and enters the garage area below. She revved up her flamer and was ready to unleash hell once she found the source. She walks over to a common patch and readied herself for some carnage.

The plant, more aware than Mizuki realized, had become accustomed to her sound, to her scent, and to the materials within her garage. It knew that she stood there with this makeshift flamethrower that would surely take out its vines, if not the walls of the garage itself. Desperate times call for desperate measures. On both their parts. While not completely aware that fire was what she planned on using, the plant was aware she had brought something new and potentially threatening, so, much to Mizuki's surprise, the vines began to move, coming alive. They spread outward, spiraling, and started to reach toward her.

Mizuki jumped back a step, lowering the nozzle of her flamethrower and fired out a steady stream of flame to incinerate the vines. "What the hell? Either I really am beginning to loose my mind, or those vines are really moving!" she cried out, spewing out more flame, all the while stepping back. She had not prepared herself for this scenario, so she thought it best to make a strategic retreat.

Mizuki's escape wouldn't be as quick as she expected. Upon feeling the heat of the flames, the vines began to tremble and spread even faster. It appeared they were spawning from the corner of the garage, and the further they reached, the thicker they became. The ground of the garage beneath Mizuki's feet began to tremble and she fell to the stone floor, the flames ceasing. Turning around, she saw the corner where the vines were blooming begin to collapse. The ground tilted toward that dip in the corner, Mizuki slipping. And out of it came a monstrous pod, opening up it mouth to reveal a maw full of teeth and writhing tongue, hungry for the mechanic. It was large enough to take her inside and swallow her whole!

Mizuki screamed, feeling her body slip towards the open maw, and with hardly any traction to keep her from sliding in. She brandished her flamethrower again as she began to descend, screaming as she pulled the trigger and spewed flames at it's mouth. "What the hell is that thing?!" she could see why ordinary herbicide couldn't get rid of the weeds, this thing before her WAS the source! And from it's gaping and dripping jaws lined with sharp teeth, she was sure that the plant wasn't your garden variety venus fly trap!
