Capital City's Main Streets Empty Capital City's Main Streets

The main streets of the capital of Gendoshima, in the high peaks.

The streets are bustling with movement, people on the go, not caring about their fellow man or kind as they go on about their business. A boot splashes water from a puddle a disheveled man steps in. He is wearing the clothes of a vagrant, his hair long and unkempt, his face spotted with a bristly beard. Around his neck, a bronze/brass colored pair of tags that marked him as a Blade... the deep trenches in them however suggested his departure was less than mutual. The name on the tags, barely visible reads "RYST MOONTHORNE, 15th BLADE". Besides the flashy tags, the other big thing was his lack of a right arm. From his upper bicep down, there was nothing. Empty space and a bundled up sleeve tied and clipped. He was once a powerful warrior, slaying the enemies of Gendoshima by the droves with his massive chain gun blade:

Capital City's Main Streets Gods-Eater-Burst-Cosplay-Prop-Alisa-Illinichina-Amiella

A blade he had lost after the... conversion. That nasty conversion process which claimed his dominant hand... arm, and his pride as a Faith Breaker. He still didn't know how he was alive, for adjusting to the changes was nigh impossible. He had debated seeking out that Wraith Beast... but feared that he'd become marked as well. "Mist be damned... All I do is fear these days..." He says to himself, reflecting these very thoughts again as he looked down at his left palm; the dirty calloused hands of a man who had to fight to survive on the streets. He pulled out his smokes, fumbling with them, before trying the scratched up lighter he salvaged off some corpse he found in the alley a few weeks past. Along with the smokes.

He grips the cig tight, grimacing. "Dammit... fucking thing..." he grumbled. The thing was, he was pretty sure he was out of oil, or karma just liked to fuck with him. All he got was sparks, in the past few days. The flash of yellow and a puff of smoke was all he got out of the thing. Don't want to throw it out... [useless]... its not useless... [like me]... He closed his eyes tight at the internal monologue. It started to haunt him for the past few weeks... it was almost unbearable to function without the guidance of the cybernetics and other shit he was wired with. Almost all but the life functioning shit was removed or seemingly got damaged in his... whatever it was. He could scarcely remember himself...

Flick-click-click...

The sparks continued, but no flame kissed his cigarette.

Capital City's Main Streets Empty The Old Dwarf, some call a god.

Sniff...

Sniff, sniff...

Did somebody pick it up.  Must have the mist is clearing out, doesn't smell right out there.  A bad storm's moving in no doubt.  Might have to go out and see how they work without the mist.  Same those cages were perfect for storms in the mist, now they'll only be lightning rods.  Maybe, yes, I could use some of that while I'm out, and it has been a while since I checked up on my works in the storage room.  The may need a quick polish.

Ancient, older than dirt, the dwarf ruffled his beard hair as he removed a tool belt from his hips and picked up an odd looking tool, part hatchet part hammer, one third wrench, and three fourths confusing to anyone who tried to figure out it's use...  mostly he just enjoyed the early tools of his time upon Galiavan.  A crude thing but a mark of a highly skill mind and deft hands.

Capital City's Main Streets Toefor10

His age un-guessable his race Dwarf, but his old beyond age, and not from this world.

As Ryst worked the lighter over time and again trying to get a flame with forlorn hope of success all around him a thing unheard of upon all of Gendoshima in recorded history was taking place. The mist of Gendoshima, the long standing cloudy moisture which blanketed the entire island was clearing. As he stood longing for his lighter to light a man very short in stature strolled up to him. It seemed he moved and covered a much greater distance in so short a time that he couldn't possible be as short as he appeared at first glance. Of course that is if one didn't simply look over his head and miss him entirely, it was an advantageous stature, to which he could pass mostly unnoticed throughout the realm as long as now one was looking down.

He was busy in his own right eyes to the sky behind what looked like solid metal googles. A murmur of the approaching storm on his lips as he stopped to watch the young man trying in vain to light his cigarette. Forgotten for the time being was the reason he had come out of his haunt inside the spire of the capital city. Forgotten also were the errands he was going to be about, something had stirred his sense of interest and like a moth to a raging inferno he couldn't resist.

Stay out here much longer boy and you won't have need of a lighter, those shiny bits in you will turn you into a human fucking torch.
A storms coming without the mist to protect your lot; there'll be death aplenty this day. Shit job their doing with my older, less works, if they only turned on the bridging system you wouldn't have an arm shorter than mine. I suppose it comes with the territory of forgetting I leave things laying about. Suppose I just go back to work, can't remember what I came out for anyway.

Mind yourself boy that body of yours isn't fit for the weather that's coming, get yourself electrocuted with death being your only outlook.

He turned and walked away as abruptly as he had come. But wonder of wonders now that Ryst attention had been drawn to him, he noticed two things of great import as the Dwarf walked away. The first was that Fenwick El Sha 1st blade of the Faith breakers had come to the vault of the Maker King while he stood listening to the dwarf. Had come gone and been about his business having never noticed the former 15th Blade in his rushing about. The second thing he noticed is that the Dwarf walked right up to the Vault of the Maker King and entered without an issue whatsoever. More to the point the location of the Vault was known only to the 15 Blades, and Ryst having been an except due to his status as the former 15th Blade. The Dwarf disappeared inside as the doors remained open. But for how long Ryst couldn't guess.

One would wonder who the mysterious dwarf was and how was he able to enter the Vault when only the 1st and 2nd Blades knew how?

Sumi the Lightning Imp couldn’t help overhear the conversation as she crawled in the shadows of a chute. What she was doing in there, didn’t matter now… Her yellowish eyes gleaming like a cat in the dark as she observed the confrontation of both men she had previously ignored. A storm huh? She thought, curiously as she pulls herself a little closer, observing the pair moving above her.

Ryst jumped at the sound of the ancient voice, his cigarette bobbing up, the lighter fumbling in his hand before it slipped and fell into a grate beneath him. He bit his lip, suppressing a cry of pure frustration and anger. He turns his head to the short, old man that appeared out of no where! "Wha...what?" He blinked, his frustration somewhat abated as he stared at the small man. "What in the depths are you talking about codger?" he grumbled, feeling cheated of his lighter, glancing down into the grate, catching a glow of yellow, before the old Dwarf spoke up again. "What?" He blinked at this, looking up at him. "H-hey! Come back here old man, how do you know about my body? Hey! Damn it..." He grumbled, following after him. His boots crunched and splashed into puddles as he followed the Dwarf. Where the hell is he going... what is that? A door? I didn't see that a few minutes ago... He thought, feeling a little nervous. He had a 10mm pistol on him, something one of his mates tossed him as a source of protection, the rusty thing was tucked behind his baggy pants, hidden under his coat:

Capital City's Main Streets 5918404079_51b9c6d73f_z_by_minamajikina77-dbmet0v

He reached back with his right hand... only to remember he didn't have one! Grumbling, he readjusted the weapon's grip so he could pull it out from behind him in a left handed draw, just in case this little troll wasn't leading him into some sort of chop shop for the Wraith Reagent. He watched him vanish into the darkness... a seemingly dark sheet enveloped the doorway that seemingly no light could possibly pierce the veil... or he had truly lost his mind at this point. He leans against the one door... gently peeking around the dark sheet that covered the entryway. Who the hell is that guy...? he asked himself, as he slipped into the darkness after the tiny man.

Sumi watched something drop from the depressed young man's hand, falling a few feet ahead of her. Curious, the imp crawled over to the item and lifted it. It was some sort of lighter, beat up and seemingly useless. She felt eyes on her, and glanced up to meet eyes with the man- freezing in place for a moment as her heart skipped a beat! He then quickly looked away, allowing Sumi to breath a sigh of relief. She glanced down at the lighter in her palm, then back up only to see the pair had moved on! She pocketed the lighter, and followed them; clearly interested in the topic of conversation, her blue hair swaying as she crawled after them as far as she could. She pulls up the grating above her when everything went quiet, her yellow sclera and lightning blue eyes wide as she could not pierce the darkness with her low light sight! "Huh... something strange going on in there~" Her cool, sexy voice crept out of her mouth. She smirked, pulling her lithe, 5'2 body from the grate and sneaks into the vault after the pair, keeping well away from them till she could either hide low or above them, her blue hair vanishing in the darkness as she is swallowed by the thick black veil...

Capital City's Main Streets Empty Re: Capital City's Main Streets

Post  Crisis Rocan Wed Jul 10, 2019 3:03 am

No sooner had Sumi crossed into the ill-light building beyond the door and just to far away to reach it in time, the door, sealed with a sliding hissing sound. Locked tightly in place behind the three who had entered. This was the storage building of the Faith Breakers, to the Faith Breakers that was. But for the old man, the Dwarf how walked with beguiling speed away from the two who followed him, it had been the back room and storage space of some of his more mundane projects from the passed ten thousand years and more.

The Dwarf worked his way passed the rows of Mark 1 Glaciers, the self-same Faith Breakers which the 15 Blades and their person squads were preparing to use in the near future. Two rows of the impressive machine built by the so-called God known only as the Maker King, lined either side of the first room into which he entered. Weapons of all sorts lined shelves in the second room, all sealed needed specific keys carried only by the 1st and 2nd Blades of the Faith Breakers to open. A tease to any who wished to take what was before them. And a further testament to the prowess of the Maker King who designed the display containers in which they remained safely stored.

Finally there was a third doorway, cleverly concealed as a wall to any who looked at. No doorway to be described by normal descriptions, but yet the wall itself had seemingly split apart and opened into a narrow passage way as the dwarf approached it. This door too he passed through, following the hallway into a much larger chamber. He went straight to work on something at work bench seemingly unaware of being followed or at least that is the way it always seems with The Master Smith, the world around him only his concern when something of interest arises.

On either side of the doorway out of sight, only visible upon entering the workshop and turning around are a pair of identical sentinels automatons, machine made men, made by the Maker King himself as pet projects in the years that followed his greater achievements.

Capital City's Main Streets Toefor11

The workshop and forge itself looked more like a cavern than a building of high technology and science, and yet it was all three. Magma a small pool of it was contained in a pond like structure near the center of the work shop some fifteen feet from the nearest wall where the Dwarf's hands glided over bits and pieces of odd golden metals, deftly and quickly crafting them into something his mind had pictured sometime between his departure and return to his labors. Lightning streaked along the walls of the cavern like chamber, lighting the enter room, and yet each bolt was contained and guided harmlessly around the rooms interior walls like a light show, in much the same way as a Faraday Cage works protecting those within while harnessing the lightning for other purposes.

Whomever this Dwarf was, his workshop hidden even form the Faith Breakers who thought they alone knew how to enter the Maker King's Vault was being of great skill and craft. Some knew he was The expert of all skill and craft, the God of Creating, as some begrudging acknowledged him their better in all matters of creation.

Ryst followed the strange little man, who seemingly did not notice Ryst pursuing him through the storage facility. "What... is this place..?" He gasped in amazement, looking around, turning around and looking and around him. Rows of suits lined up, ready for deployment. He vaguely remembering entering a similar location when he was first initiated into the Faith Breaker ranks, he was perhaps fifteen though at the time... such a lifetime ago it felt like. Thats when his eyes fell upon a familiar looking sword, but it wasn't his. It reminded him of his blade, his crimson sword flashing back into his memory again... the Titanreaver:

Capital City's Main Streets God-eater-alisa-amiella-plum-71-e1335270462591

He walked up to the gun blade, this one all bronze in color, yet lacking the combat knife style shape his Titanreaver had. He tried to raise the weapon... but found he could not on his own. "Dammit..." He grumbled, when he remembered the dwarf again, his head turning to the motion of a door swaying open and saw the tiny man head down a tight corridor. "W-wait!" He called out, dropping the sword on the display and headed after him again. He followed him along the tight corridor, the hall leading into a more cavern like structure. A magma pool was in the center of the next large chamber he followed the dwarf into, and he crossed into the room when he felt the hairs on his body begin to rise. He turned around, his jaw agape in amazement at the sight of the current running through the cavern walls, lightning like aura shimmering in a dazzling showcase of arcing patterns and branching blue formations. He looked up to the ceiling, and then turned to face the Dwarf who was shouldering his bag of tools... he noticed the men like machines glaring at him, turning to face the intruder he was, with looks of puzzlement or hatred... Ryst honestly couldn't make out their emotions. "What... who... where...?" So many questions ran through his mind, he felt quite overwhelmed as he looked from the environment of the workshop, the man made men, and the dwarf...

Capital City's Main Streets Empty Re: Capital City's Main Streets

Post  Sumi Wed Jul 10, 2019 2:34 pm

She was quick to enter before the door closed shut behind them, Sumi keeping out of sight of the pair, slinking in the darkness as she stalked them deeper into the lair. She 'flickered' her way to an upper level, flashes of blue electricity traversing the air, her body reforming on an upper level as she observed the one armed human's confusion. Admittedly, she was pretty in awe of the facility as well, having traveled in the shafts and tunnels all the time, but oddly none lead here... or at least, ones she's been through at the least. She was staring at one of the odd Faith Breaker suits, when her eyes fell upon the young man's fleeing form. He was chasing after the dwarf through another door. Ever the curious kitty, she followed after them again; in case the door decided to close like the last. She 'flickered' back down to ground level a moment or two after the younger man vanished through the narrow hall, and silently followed several steps behind.

They were walking into some sort of cave, the orange glow of magma radiated ahead of her, and she could feel the heat of the molten rock from midway down the tunnel. Curious, Sumi pressed further till she felt the current, the flow of electrons. Before she knew it, her body 'flickered' on its own, she looked at her fading fingers before she vanished into streaks of blue electricity and began to flow into the walls of the cavern as well. She was fine, however, her body felt more powerful oddly as she flowed with the current, her cells replicating and converting flowing into odd machines and streaming around the surface of the room. Still aware, she could observe the scene relatively unnoticed, save perhaps a surge of electricity. She didn't feel too threatened either, knowing she could pull herself from the whirling electricity flow easily after performing a test to prove her theory; teleporting to an entirely different room altogether before she returned back to the flow to observe the pair in the hidden workshop.

Capital City's Main Streets Empty Re: Capital City's Main Streets

Post  Crisis Rocan Wed Jul 10, 2019 6:05 pm

As if the odd cavern inside of a building wasn't strange and marvelous enough the Dwarf begin working around his workshop. Magma, somehow trapped and contained yet flowing freely inside it's pool was his first stop. The piece he had been working he thrust into the fresh magma arms going in clean up to his shoulders without any form of protective gear. A few moments later he pulled his arms free and moved off to another table on the opposite side of the magma pool reaching in once again to retrieve a small clear contain of some muddy liquid, which he placed on his work bench. A gleam of liquid fire flared out of existent as he brushed his hands off for a moment.

Sumi would find anywhere she tried to travel to through currents of electrical energy would be isolated to only the building in which she had entered, for the building was isolated, spacious and large but isolated from the rest of Gendoshima it was a standalone structure. With sections that were not accessible via electricity or ventilation ducts, which in themselves were next to non-existent. Most of the rooms were basic, some were living quarters, some were training rooms nearly as big as the forge and workshop was, there were many others. One such room inaccessible and sealed contained something within, something that was keeping everything out, a source of energy, of power, raw and un-tamable, a power that felt as though it was barely restrained from tearing the world apart.

The Dwarf on the other hand was busily working on a stone block in another spot of the forge, with something that seemed to look like a cutting and shaping tool from the use he was putting it to. Slowly the stone took shape as he worked, changing in color for light alabaster white to a faint yellow without an apparent explanation.

"Never mind the Toy's boy, they only look harmless. Might take an arm off you for giggles if they had a sense of humor. Hardly my finest work, but they easily outstrip my enhancement armors you passed on the way in. Don't touch the electrical current like that Glowbug is, it'll remove what's left of you faster than that on coming storm.

Now you've clearly come to old Toefor for something your own folk can't do, always the case, always the case..."

Toefor The Dwarven Master Smith stopped speaking mid thought letting the now golden stone he had been working on next to the jar of muddy liquid on his work bench to fetch the metal from the magma pool laying it beside the other two items as he pulled his beard in thought."

Now we just need the right superconducting elements to stabilize and correct that. Before the Prevoyante takes a disliking to your situation herself.

For a brief moment his eyes shot straight at Ryst's stump of a right arm, than back to the three items upon his work bench. Shaking his head he while stroking his beard once again he walked toward another doorway situated across from where they had entered. He stopped considering for a moment what he would prefer to perfect the project he was working on.

Ryst looked on in shock, as the man reached into the pool of magma like it was any other liquid, seemingly unaffected by the heat and neither scorched nor burned was he when withdrew his burly arms. Such is the abilities of the Dwarven race… He remembered. He looked back to the machine-men and frowned. “Be hard to share between the two, I ain’t giving up one of my legs…” He trailed off, sounding somewhat cynical as he was reaching for the surge of electricity, pausing when the old man said it was dangerous. He blinked, glancing over to the dwarf. “Glowbug?” Ryst hadn’t an idea what he was talking about, Toefor pulling his beard while mumbling to himself, and shooting glances at his right arm’s stump.

Ryst follows the ancient creature’s gaze, and shot him a glance back. “More like followed you here… out of curiosity. Though I must say, your name sounds familiar, but everything’s been hazy since I was… let go.” he says, rubbing his forehead, after attempting to reach up with his missing arm. It was then he realized what the dwarf was attempting, but before he could press him, the dwarf was waddling through another doorway. “Wait… you’re going to help me, with my arm?” he asked, following after the eccentric geezer into the following chamber.

Sumi felt a bit odd about the lone door, before she had gone back to observing the pair, noticing they were entering another location. The blazing blue streaks of energy subtly streaking through the walls, keeping close as her usual. She was a bit impressed, how the dwarf could sense her, and this kitty still had yet to satiate her curiosity.

Toefor bumps into a tall woman’s stomach, causing the pretty green haired girl to stumble back a little. “Holy Hellfire, you need to announce when you’re going to burst through the doors like that!” the lovely assistant says, before her eyes fall upon the scraggly young man behind him. She blinked at the disheveled man, then looks down at Toefor. “Yo… who’s the one armed hobo?” She asked, pointing in Ryst's direction.

Someone doesn't know how to use simple tools properly. Can't let my flawless machinery make slop like that. Bad form.

As always Toefor's responses leave more questions then actual answers. But this one was clear at least to him. Someone had used one of his machines and botched the process so badly that it left Ryst with half an arm and a whole lot of useless metal bits and pieces inside him. And if there was one thing that Toefor couldn't abide, it was people screwing up his projects.

Red tooth pick from the weapons storage, some of the ebony, not the glittery one, the glimmery one sitting right next to it. Oh lets not forget some the oil in the yellow jars the tall ones not the buttery ones. A spoon full of waxen lacquer. Umm yes and that rosemary liquor, five year malt not the blood whiskey. And get yourself a pair of high density insulated gloves, the long ones that come up to your wrist. You're going to need'em.

Toefor all the while had moved from his much taller apprentice back to his work bench while rattling off the list of items he would need to finish his current project. Rearranging the three items at his work station adjusting the order in which they sat he occasionally pulled at his beard hairs. Mussing to himself aloud as he was often wont to do.

Two maybe three, multi-functioning, yeah might do that too, although if it does I might have to use more of that then I intend to. Should all fit nicely in the provided spaced... No, nope no nope... going to need to adjust that incantation a little bit. Little one I'm going to need you to speak with one of the Knights of the Order of Chaos. Their master will be required for this I think. Probably already knows though. Oh and you can for get about getting the oil from the yellow jars, I believe I have more than enough right here to work with.

Never a word spoken to Ryst or directly to Sumi, but much had been implied about a number of things as he spoke. The ancient Dwarf stood for only a moment more before running the hand he had been pulling at his beard with over both the magma soaked metal and stone.

Post  Ryst Moonthorne Thu Jul 11, 2019 12:48 am

Ryst stopped in his tracks as Toefor bumped into a girl... a rather endowed young woman, who was almost as tall as himself. She was quite pretty, he would admit, but didn't really think much of anything of that sort as he was trying to make sense of everything. He frowned at her response. "Hobo...?" He grumbled, blinking. He then glanced himself over. Yeah, he skipped a shave, a proper bath for Gods know how long, not to mention still wearing the same unkempt clothing he scavenged when his uniform was in rags. When was that, anyway...? He thought, before shrugging, going to reach into his pocket for a cigarette when he realized he was using his right arm again, and remembered he had no lighter to light it. "Lady, I have no idea what he's up to, at this point I'm in for the ride because why the hell not? I got no where to go, I was kicked to the curb when I lost my usefulness... hell if he's gonna pour molten metal over my head I guess I could imagine worse fates..." He says this as he pulls a cig with his left hand from the inner left jacket pocket, catching an errant spark off the wall with the tip of the cigarette, causing it to light up- before bringing it to his lips. He took a deep inhale, and then exhaled calmly.

Akari rubbed her eyes at the sound of that... "Ahh... it got personal, I get ya Toef." She says, nodding up and down as she got an idea of his motivations. She glanced up at the young man, her hand masking her mouth and nose now. Wonder if he'll look the same after Toefor's done with him. She thought. She then returned her attention to the master of the forge and his supply list. "Ah, right. Should be easy... since you pile it all in the same place." She shrugged, walking past the man as he lit his cigarette.

She says patting his shoulder... then wiping her hand off her apron after passing him, he was rather dusty. She then paused again, and turned to face the Dwarf again. "Wait, why the gloves? Ooo, am I going to be aiding you in this project Master Toefor?~" She asked, sounding a bit more sweeter in tone; the prospect of actually working on something alongside the forgemaster after a long stint of mostly touch ups and beating shit to a fine sheet and collecting supplies for the dwarf was exciting!

Sumi noticed the new woman, and observed the situation closely. What was the little man saying? Mumbling to the tall woman to fetch a bunch of seemingly random junk? She swirls in the electrical field, enjoying the current and amperage of the sea of electrons she was swimming in. She felt very relaxed and almost at home in the electrical fields, her body almost numb with bliss!

Fix your arm, boy you blind it's missing!  No fixing a missing limb, maybe rewire the mistakes and fix the mess some clown made of my beautiful machinery.  Terrible shame what some fool has done with it.

With another stiff glance at the stump of an arm Toefor folded his arms across his massive yet diminutive chest.

So you want your arm fixed up, replaced rather.  Could do it, easy enough to slap a prosthetic limb on there for you, it'd make you feel all right as rain and like your old self.  But why should I?  Why should old Toefor give you a gift worth your life and weight in Dielyn Toggles?  What makes you so worth my time and effort boy?  What can you offer in exchange for such a gift?  What could you possibly offer that is worth my talents?

Sniffing the air for a brief moment he sighed, the glowbug wasn't quite big enough for anything he could have used it for.  Which was a shame he thought as he waited for his apprentice to fetch the things he had requested.

Capital City's Main Streets Knight10

Ice Izo Knight of the Order of Chaos sat waiting while straightening out a small pile of supplies, the very same ones which Toefor had request from Akari his apprentice. She followed the direction of the God Chaos whom she and her fellow knights served in this, their second life. When she arrived ICE passed on her master's message.

"Tell your master, that Lord Chaos says he already has what he needs, that altering the seal incantation will only cause great suffering. Instead he should thread the conductor he is thinking of dipped and coated first. And a warning that the outcome in time will be far more severe than your master thinks it will be, that this will most likely become a bonding of many threads, not just mortal ones."

Ice set aside the last of the items she was handling as she glared daggers at the larger more attractive woman, a mark of her own insecurity. Though she would never voice such words again. She left going back to rejoin the other Knights at her master's the God Chaos's side

She noticed the change in the glow of the walls, before she nodded in silence. “Ohhh…. Understood.”

Akari had arrived to collect the supplies, standing before Ice with a faint smirk, knowing how much it pissed the bald woman off simply being in her presence. She silently began picking through the supplies for Toefor, when Ice spoke to her. “Oh, heh, I’ll be sure to do that.” she says, shouldering the bag of supplies. She turned around, looking over her shoulder and grinned. “By the way, you look smaller than the last time I saw you~” She teased, lifting her breasts playfully before she left Ice to her brooding. She still had to pick up the ‘toothpick’ and the brandy.

“Shit, I didn’t know that…”Ryst rolled his eyes, before he turned to the dwarf, his eyes empty, the cig hanging low off his lip. “I dunno, cuz your bored? Keep saying the Blades fucked it up, so I guess so you can one up them? I don’t have anything I can offer ya, not yet anyhow. As it stands now I’m broken; I’ve got nothing but a damn handicap to remind me how useless I am these days…” He says pulling the cig from his lips and blowing out a plume of smoke.

Akari reentered the room, placing the bag of supplies by the work table near Toefor.

“Okay, still gotta grab the gloves, the toothpick annnd your brandy. Ran into the ‘budding’ knight along the way, by the way. She wanted me to pass on something about altering that seal incantation will cause more suffering, something like that. The Lord suggests that you should thread the conductor by dipping and coating it first.” She says with a shrug, before turning around, heading to fetch the rest. “Oh yeah, also a warning- that the outcome in time’s gonna be more severe than you think, might be a bonding of many threads not just normal ones, blah blah, impending doom and darkness, etcetera.” She says with a shrug, nonchalantly.

“Which toothpick by the way? The one in the armory or the one I was working on?” She asked.

Sumi continued to observe the smiths and the one armed man. The one armed man’s words were almost devoid of emotion, save a sorrow she could sense. The darkness he had within him… she could almost taste it. She zipped around the cavern all the while… curious to what the dwarf would say to the one armed man’s response… and now the woman was mentioning some sort of ‘Lord’ and painful process? Sumi felt a little forlorn about that… she wondered if the one armed man would survive, because… they had to be talking about him, right..?

Toefor shrugged as Ryst spoke, broken yes, but not without value, that was something the man misunderstood.  Toefor knew better, for long years of his early life he studied both the crafting and forging of metals and materials.  There were many things considered broken and useless with more value than the finest of gem stones and exquisite works of mortal hands.  Once upon a time, he might have agreed with the young man before him

Akari had returned spouted a clearly butchered report on the message sent from his oldest living friend, if you could consider the manifestation of multiplicitious being a friend, living or oldest... frankly he was the oldest living being, and in that regard likewise Chaos was his friend even before he became Chaos when he was two other beings of immense power.  But Lord Rage would always be Lord Rage to him no matte the name or title or godly powers he possessed.

Toefor replied first to Akari with the simplest answer necessary

Yes...

Boy, you misunderstand entirely.  I don't care that those fools misuse my inventions and creations, that's the way of all worlds.  It's principle of the matter, something needs correcting.  Something fundamental that shouldn't have to be explained, but seeing as how you'd miss the hair's for a Hobbit's foot I'll be blunt.  You are stupid!

Only thing about you boy that's useless is all that whining and slinking around like a whipped slave.  You almost look alive at the slightest thought of being handed...

A new arm... but what good will that do you?  I mean really you didn't earn it, you didn't do anything for it, you didn't strive, fight or work for it, you just got lucky?

...

To that end I say no such Solox boy.  A new arm would be wasted on you, hell a working lighter would be wasted on you.  And you look at me with even the slightest touch of hope in the back of you almost vacant eyes, for a hand out.  Nope that just does not interest me in the least...

But I won't turn you away.  We'll work something out...

Goes back to his work bench and begins sorting through the items, first he took the spoonful of waxen lacquer smoothing back his hair with it until it stead in place behind his ears at the back of his head.  Meanwhile he picked up the ebony stone and began looking it over with a critical eye, before finally gnawing on the end of it.

in advance!

The words cut him deeply, looking down at his boots, the cigarette’s ashes fluttering down. He clutched his fist tightly. He had been rather selfish and entitled, the prospect of something not being handed to him... it was a long time since he felt that way. The past ten years he had as a Breaker made him forget somewhat. Still, the life he knew, got used to, got torn away with his arm. He wasn't the man he once was... he was afraid. "I..." He started, when Toefor said: But I won't turn you away.  We'll work something out...

Ryst raised his head again, his eyes wide with hope, as he approached the Dwarf. "Yes... yes, forgive me for my stupidity, Toefor." He replied, watching the man gnaw on the collected ebony stone. "I... can work for it, just say the word!" He gulped, feeling an odd taste in the back of his throat. A part of me feels like I just signed a contract with the Demon King... He thought, wearily.

Capital City's Main Streets Empty Re: Capital City's Main Streets

Post  Akari Ragebender Fri Jul 12, 2019 3:52 am

Akari blinked at the Dwarf's response. "Ah...huh..." she trails off, before turning away and heading back to the armory. She collected one of the large Faith Breaker style gunblades, then went to her part of the workshop- a bench of ebony with many superheated metals still glowing as they lay stretched across its smooth surface. She grabbed the gloves, slipping them on, and grabbed the bottle of alcohol, tucking it between her breasts, before lifting the sword she was working on that glowed with a bright cherry coloration. Ryst couldn't lift the one she had taken from the Armory earlier, but Akari could handle the weight with a single arm- with another of similar weight in her free hand as well!

When she returned, she stabbed both blades into the ground in front of Toefor, before yanking the bottle from her cleavage by the neck, her bosom bouncing after it slid out. "Here they are Toef, as well as the Rosemary Liquor." She smiled, tossing the bottle to him before she turned her attention to the 'Glow Bug' issue. "Hmm, I have a couple ideas about our shocking guest..." she murmured, walking over to one of the cavern walls, taking out her sledgehammer and focused it towards the hiding imp...

She brought the weapon close enough to the cavern's wall so that the lightning began to arc onto the sledge, before Akari sets the weapon down, producing a new current to flow into the hammer. She winced a little, feeling the zapping energies tingle her nerves, even with the protection of the gloves. She eventually lets go, stepping back from the electrified rod... and now all she had to do was wait.
