Kiriko’s Curios (Poor District)

Located in the heart of Beijio's 'Poor District' not too far from Begger's Lane, is a rundown old shop that has been there for as long as anyone can remember. This shop of 'curiosities' deals in rare, unique, and oft 'dubious' products which are generally brought in by customers and purchased for a small sum by the shops owner, Kiriko Kamimura:



The old woman's a sharp one, and of the Kamimura line, being namely, Kamimura Gozen, or Kiriko Kamimura. She has weathered the shop through several years worth of tragedies and yet, even after surviving several calamities and fires, the shop has always remained. A curious shop indeed, Lady Kamimura deals with all sorts of clientele, but more often than not the riffraff and other undesirables. Just be forewarned; when within these walls, be careful of what you purchase... as it may come with more than just a 'hefty' price tag attached...

It was another slow day at Kiriko's Curios, the old woman behind the counter smoking her Kiseru, Beijionese smoking pipe, in relative calm. Her normally sharp, pretty green eyes were closed as she sat in silence, meditating. She could sense Eiji, her youngest grandchild was out and about running tasks for her... she could also sense a long departed energy form returning... Yuko Busujima? Curious... that haughty youngster is alive after all? Heh... I guess cock roaches are incredibly hard to kill after all~ She smirked, before smacking her pipe down on one, burning it with bright flames- reducing it to ash in an instant. Damn... need to call the exterminators again. This place is falling apart in spite of my enchantments... ugh, what a pain... Sighed the old Kamimura Gozen internally...

A figure cloaked in black strode into Kiriko's humble establishment, features completely obscured by the pitch black robe. The Man in Black walked in without a sound, invisible to all but Kiriko herself. His footfalls should caused the old floorboards of the shop to creak, but nary a sound escaped his form.

Until he stopped just short of the counter and gazed at the wizened woman from under the blackened hood. "Kamimura Kiriko. Current grandmatron of the Kamimura line. It would seem your granddaughter Marika has been caught up in a spot of trouble." The figure explained the situation with Cell as if he had witnessed it personally, even producing a perfect sketch of the bio-mechanical being known as Cell. The sketch also possessed information on The Wrong Ingot Bar and what Marika had been up to before being absorbed.

"Her lifeforce is still intact within him though one can not say for how long that might last. Consider these the words of a good Samaritan. Good fortunes and may the hunt be on your side." The figure then bowed his head and left as quickly as he had arrived, vanishing in a thin wisp of smoke once outside the shop....

Kiriko's eyes had opened, revealing their brilliant jade luster as the unidentifiable man approached her counter. She spun the kiseru in her fingers and brought the filter back to her lips as she eyed him carefully as he spoke to her. She didn't say a single thing to the being, as it bowed its head to her and turned away. The information about the second eldest daughter of her deceased male descendant, 'Marika' was concerning as she was one of the few surviving Kamimura's who adapted well to Kiriko's training regimen... but also confusing. Looking down at the sketch and information, she had to wonder if this was some sort of trap. Even if it is...of which it may just be, I cannot let Marika fall before she has children of her own. Since her birth, I predicted she'd have twins who will hold great power within them, thanks to her union with a being 'born of light and dark', a dhampir at that who will not need to feed on blood save to increase their powers tenfold... Hmm, as it is, Rangiku seems to also be in trouble from the 'sense' of things... Zu-Zu is fine, so long as she stays clear of that Body Bag in Breland City... hmm. The woman hummed, thinking this all over. She would have no choice but to save Marika, regardless if she was headed into a trap or not. The future of the Kamimura line was too important to leave at risk like this.

"I shall have to... become serious then." She smirked, taking another long drag from her pipe.

At that moment, the sound of a base, heavy, and familiar motorbike pulled up out the front of store, followed seconds later by a tall lithe and feminine figure standing in the doorway. Her familiar brunette locks framed by the dark shadow formed by her unique tricorn hat. The black and red leather and heavy cloth that adorned the rest of her tall, shapely and strong looking physique along with her visible ruby colored scales, and especially her long, thick swaying reptilian tail identified her quickly as Lysendia, the Pirate Queen of the Sea Salamanders.



With a smile, Lys approached Kiriko, carrying what appeared to be a heavy wooden chest with her. "Hoeya there, Grandma. I brought ya a little present." she said, using her tail to hoist the heavy chest onto the counter effortlessly, and open it, revealing it full of Gold.



"That's what I owe yer for the shipping supplies, and this..." she said, before reaching to her satchel back, withdrawing a overfilled coin purse bulging with a lot of metallic objects inside. "Is something I was told you were looking for specifically." she finished, placing the coinpurse on the counter, and as soon as she let go of the purse strings, they opened, letting a few of the hexagonal shaped cold lined coins fall to the counter with a heavy clapping sound. While the coins were rimmed and pressed with gold, what they surrounded got Lys very curious. A blue glowing metal was contained within the coins. She had seen metal and ore like this before. "I know what that is, Grandma. I'm a pirate, but I'm not uneducated."

The elderly woman blinked up at the tall, beautiful if not deadly Salamander Commander before her, the pirate Queen Lysendia. Also known as the younger half sister of Amaines, the dragoness which a certain forest got its namesake from. She knew this wily salamander for... most of her natural life give or take. She remained silent as she observed the reptile set down the chest of gold and the coin purse. She raised her brows, glancing up at her with a sly grin. "Oh? Do ye now? Perhaps I am the one who is uneducated? Perhaps I've gone senile? Who are you deary? Would you like to have some ginger snaps and cocoa?" Kiriko smirked, teasing the fire lizard as calmly smokes her kiseru. She could see Lys had a hunger in her eyes, a hunger for vindication? Or was it she wanted to press into why this sly old codger with Kitsune blood in her veins would want these old relics. She was curious if the proud Salamander would ask, or would she become irritated for Kiriko's intentional evasiveness...?

Lys' face took on a rather haunted and mournful look, which was highly unusual for the usually hot tempered and exuberant Half Drake. The truth was, Lysendia wanted to go to her mothers family crypts, and pay her respects to her mother, as well as perform her sermon at the Shrine. She was still Tanegashima by blood. However, she directed the conversation away from those sensitive topics. "Those coins are inlaid with Bavarium. And not just any Bavarium, but the good stuff, mined from Lux before it sank in 2282. The hell do you really want with that stuff? That shit is so potent it's as bad as possessing themonuclear grade plutonium cores. That shit'll get you into some real deep trouble if anyone found out you have it."

She sighed, tapping her Kiseru in the ash tray before raising a brow at her inquiry. "Indeed. They are. Do you really wish to know, child? You probably wouldn't understand, as its from before your time and my own, but even if I try to explain it to you fully... it probably would not make much sense anyway..." She sighed, as she brought the pipe back to her lips, inhaled then exhaled. "...it may be better off not knowing, to be frank with you."

Lys looked at Kiriko with a serious, if puzzled expression, but the puzzlement disappeared soon after when she spoke again. "Look, you were one of the very few people in this  city that didn't treat me like crap when I was little. That alone gets you my respect. I also know that if you don't want me to know something, not even Kra'ad could pry it out of you in my presence, so I won't try. But unlike me, you don't have several nations worth of military firepower at your disposal like I do, nor an army with no borders. You won't be able to get away with holding onto that stuff like I can. If they catch you with that stuff, they'll execute you. Just be careful ok? I don't want to have to attend your grave too..."

Titania continued to give chase to the hooligan who stole the old man's coin purse, holding onto the scabbard of her blade as she ran just as swiftly behind the fleeing criminal! She managed to squeeze her curvy body down a tight and narrow corridor, sliding past a few doorways before she was back in the street again. He turned down a side street, heading for some sort of shop before she managed to reach out and grab hold of his ratty kimono's collar and tossed him into a side alley's dead end wall! "No where to go now, thief." She says, drawing out the full length of her sabre:



It was a bronze cup hilt sabre that was more Izheveskian in style than Feniran, with a gleaming silvery blade. "I suggest you turn over the purse you stole, before I am forced to search it off of you. Criminal scum like you shouldn't get off so easy, but shall you turn it over I'll let you leave with your life and limbs still in tact!" the twenty-three year old woman barked, aiming the tip of her blade towards the young man's right shoulder!

Lys's ears shot up at the sound of a young man's yelp, and a painful thud against a concrete and brick wall. her eyes widened, the irises going to pinpricks, and her head snapped around to the side door. "Shit!" she said as she gathered up the Bavarium coins into their bag, and stuffed them into the chest, before closing and locking it. Quickly Lys drew her Bloodrage Katana. "You expecting trouble there Kiri?" she said, as she peeked out the door.

"Considering only a handful of people may know who Krad is, let alone was... well, that is saying something. Heh, its not an ordeal unless it becomes one and most people don't even know what the hell this stuff is and its not that dangerous as you make it out to be. You'll need a helluva lot more to make a big boom like Galideno." She chuckled. Upon the sound of the scuffle, Kiriko remained unphased and simply continued to smoke her pipe. "Nope." She answered, exhaling a ring of smoke. "Sounds to me like a scuffle between a petty and or desperate thief and a vigilante of justice... annoying all the same to me. Still, can't blame the bastard given the hard times here in the slums. Some noble's a few coins less, big deal if you ask me." Said the woman, who was, ironically, a noblewoman as well.

"You are way too laid back for holding a substance that hot, you know that? Just be careful with that stuff." said Lys as she flicked Kiri the keys to the chest as she went outside to confront these disturbers of the peace. "I might bring ya back a little something something, depending what this is." Lys called out over her shoulder.
