This room is 50ft wide by 100 ft long at the center at the far end of the room there's the Throne of the Emperor behind him is a gap in the wall where there's a Trench that leads to the dungeons [See Dungeons for specifics]. There are guards all around the room, and the room is decorated with black marble with white swirls...At the side of the room are tables for Knights/Warriors and guests to sit at while the Emperor tends to his subjects...

She frowned. "Well, thats where things are somewhat fuzzy. I'll try my best to explain. My people were always a nomadic tribe, it was our belief that the entire desert was our home and we shouldn't stagnate in one place for too long. However, Elves die, just like mortals, but unlike them they do not rot, not even under the baking sun." She paused, opening a door to another passage, before leading them onward. "Our burial customs were that we would consume the flesh of the fallen, to not let it go to waste. One of your mortal Gods witnessed the act, and thus cursed us and our forms... to remain permanent and with the added insanity to boot. Or so the legends say. Unfortunately, we do not know why this is the case. This is the common explanation among my people... the story behind our curse is uncertain, but the curse itself is very real." She replied. They were getting close to the main hall now. "But enough talk, you need to speak with Kurtz now." She says, bowing her head, her gold eyes glancing back at Haze.

Haze nodded as she explained. He didn't know what to say about it, but it seemed that Fox had resigned her people to their fates. "Well... perhaps we should look into it more, Foxfire." He says placing a hand on the Elf's shoulder before turning to the door. "Well, when we're done here." He chuckled, opening the double stone doors to the main hall.

It had fallen into a great decay with sand and broken tile strewn about. The room having an unsettling vibe, especially from the twisted looking throne ahead of him. "Kurtz, where ya at? Where's this seal everyone's worked up over?" He called out.

Saren hears the doors open again, turning to the Beijionese kid and the ladies. "'Ey, there ya are." He smiled. He was a big Scardian guy, with a large buster style blade holstered on his back. He was muscular, tall, fiery haired and had green eyes. "We found this wall, Kurtz can't make heads or tails of it, but he's sure its a secret passage. But some sort of protective ward keeps us from entering." He shrugged.

She watched as Haze entered the main hall and could already see and hear Saren from within. She turns to Fox and raises a brow. "Yeah, we'll get to that.... we'll get right on it." She says rolling her eyes in a rather cold manner. She continued forwards, following the Beijionese swordsman. "I mean, its only been a curse thats plagued your kind for millennia, no?" She says, not facing the elf as she says this in passing.

She had turned to Haze with a confused gaze as he placed a hand on her shoulder and with an assuring voice, said they would look into it more. She blinked at this, and couldn't help but be flattered by the young mortal's words, though the curse itself millennia old made him sound like they'd discover the secret to break the curse after a trip to the library or something. It was silly, but appreciated....

Till Cesil said what her pessimistic side of her had always told the Desert Elf. Voicing her anxieties for her, she watches Cesil walk ahead of her and thinks to herself if they really needed the arrogant human in their fold. She was one of the best explores on Domescadia to be sure, but Foxfire Reyneiros was growing tired of the blond's impudent mouth. She stayed her hand for now, as they may need her assistance for now... plus, there was no need to bloody her blade for such a squabble, she was a better being than that. She closed her eyes. "Whatever chief, I'm keeping to task." She sighed. Hand on her belt, she follows Cesil inside the throne room.

Cesil could feel the blood lust or resentment in Fox's tone, so she paused and slowly turned her head back to face the bronzed elf. Her face was sly and foxlike ironically. "Good good. I don't want any more distractions. We aren't here to solve the curse of your people any more I am to find out the reason why my people became nomadic. We're here for gold, riches and wealth for a high paying collector and historian living out of Breland. I need you to be ready to use that sword, and your other abilities should they draw out of you, desert flea." She says in a semi cruel tone. "You were a scout if I recall, make use of yourself and scout the halls for any signs of hostile life." She ordered, before shrugging and regrouping with Saren and the others. "Hey, Red, where's Kurtz at?" She asked, looking around the throne room as she approached.

"Hey, Red, where's Kurtz at?" She asked, looking around the throne room as she approached.

Saren turned to Cesil and Foxfire's interactions, looking back to Haze before back to the women. He was Scardian, and they were a proud people of a proud country that had little in the way of elitism save perhaps those with money and those who did not, but even then Scardian's even begrudgingly accepted all other Scardian's as well, Scardian. Here, two people from the same country as Domescadia, a once rich and prosperous oasis kingdom spat at one another like hungry mongrels, and Cesil wasn't exactly being fair to Fox if he was to be given any light on the situation. He looks back to the samurai and coughs against his wrist. "Eh, better go on ahead Haze, talk with Kurtz he's behind the throne looking down the pit back there." He thumbed behind him, towards that eyesore of a stone throne.

He grabbed a rifle from the wall and headed over to the ladies.

"Oi, Fox." He says, tossing her the Falcon F2 Bolt-Action Heavy Rifle. It was a Scardian made bolt-action rifle meant for heavy penetration from very long distances:

He rubbed dust away from his nose as he approached, and smirked. "If you're going to go scouting, take that along. A scout needs a long gun to give them a better edge after all." He glances over Cesil and then shrugged. "Heck, I'll join ya. These muscles need some action." He says, winding up his thick muscular arms. "If you need anything, let us know boss lady." Saren tells Cesil, looking over at her somewhat sternly. He then walks past both ladies with his hands behind his head. "C'mon Foxfire, lets go scout the area!" He calls back without turning around. "Oh, yeah, Kurtz is behind the throne Ces, just follow the kid." He added, waving her 'goodbye' as he walked out of the throne room.

Haze acknowledged Saren Titanborn before he decided to appoint himself to scout duty along with Foxfire. Looking back one more time in their direction, with Cesil working up Fox and Saren trying to play mediator between the women, he figured the beefy guy could handle it. He shrugged, and returned to task, heading over to the throne. It was cracked in the middle, but still able to be sat in. A ray of light from the remaining skylight not covered in debris and sand shined down upon it like the world wanted you to make note of the once opulent hand carved throne. Past it, he could see Kurtz looking down a shaft of sorts, looking perplexed. The samurai steadily paced himself in his direction. "Kurtz, you called for me? The others keep telling me about some sort of 'wall' and 'seal' and its in ancient Beijionese script..." He paused as he saw the man continue to stare at something he could not see. He blinked, looking down, taking a step towards the mouth of the shaft, peering down. "What are you looking at?" he asked the scholar.

The young man had one arm folded across his chest, and the other arm propped up on it, with his hand resting on his chin. An open notebook was in the other hand, and a pen was in Kurtz's mouth. He was studying the ancient Domescadian script that bordered the entranceway to what was apparently called 'Haawiyah', or the Abyss. The young man appeared to be in his late twenties, with dark blue eyes and bluish grey hair. He was wearing a navy cuffed sleeve shirt, a loose light blue ascot tucked behind a grey silk vest with a pair of holsters under each arm pit carrying Mark IV Valkyrie handguns chambered in .45 Auto. He had brown full fingered leather gloves on, and black slacks with a small leather bag with pouches affixed to his left thigh. High, brown leather cuffed boots made up the young Izheveskian Noble's attire. He had a pair of swords in a crisscross fashion hanging on his lower back. Lywen Delacieleier Froselvin Kurtz was an intelligent linguist and noble from Izhevesk who had an eye for the Domescan and Teronian culture. He didn't hear Haze of Beijio till he asked what he was looking at, turning to face the Samurai after reading 'the Abyss' from the shaft's outer rim and reached out suddenly with his open hand! "Step back, the floor is greased." He says calmly to the younger man. He pushed the young samurai gently back from the opening to Haawiyah, and turns to face him fully. "One false step, and you could be sent down to Abdel Adham's prison... sources say its over three hundred feet deep. Could be exaggerating, but... really wanna risk falling back into what the Domescan's once called 'the Abyss', Haze?" He asked the teen before smirking. "I hear our fearless leader is making amok with Foxfire again. I wonder if they'll put their childish differences aside..." He sighs, before closing his notebook and attached it to his hip. "Well, anywho..." he begins to walk away, his arm waving Haze to follow him. "I found the ward about an hour ago, when you went off to sleep as you have been doing as of late. You're in a trance like state sometimes, and I must admit, I find it most curious..." he mumbles, leading Haze to the wall in question.

Foxfire's eyes were lidded and she lowered her head slightly, looking pissed. "Yes, wealth stolen from the people of this country, only to some foreigner who's too afraid to venture into these ruins himself. These ruins are just as cursed as my people, Cesil Freemoon, as is the treasure you foolishly seek. It belonged to the lost culture of Domescadia, you're own people. Then again, you mortals of Domescadia only concern yourselves with greed. Greed and slaves, it doesn't matter who's hurt in the process, does it?" She asked, before Saren arrived and tossed her a gun.

She glanced over the weapon for a moment, before readying it. She looks back into Cesil's eyes and shook her head. "We shouldn't be here." She finished, turning around and exiting the throne room as well.

Cesil shrugged at the elf's pessimism. "Honestly? I can care less about what my slave trader ancestors did. I'm working for the now, for the big number one- me. If you want to leave, you can, but you won't get a cut of the profits. Nothing's stopping you." She replied back sharply, before Saren interrupted them, and walked out with Foxfire in an attempt to cool down the Desert Elf. She turned away from the pair, and heard Kurtz's voice from behind the throne and headed over to them. "Ah, any more progress professor?" She asked, her smile not leaving her face. She was confident they were on to something, and with some poor sports aside, thought this team was perfectly balanced for this job.

Haze gulped, looking down at the gradual slope which descended into pitch darkness. Watching a bead of sweat roll off his chin and then instantaneously slide into the abyss the tilted ramp lead... Yeah, I don't care to find out how far that goes down... He thought, cautiously backing away and following the professor. "Yeah, Cesil's being hard on Fox again..." he sighed. "I'm surprised it hasn't come to blows between them, but even a swordsman like myself wouldn't want to get in the middle of their flurry of blows if it came to drawn swords." "As for my sleeping habits, well can you blame me? I'm bunked next to Saren and he snores like a chainsaw. I try to get as much sleep as I can before nightfall. How do any of you put up with it?" He asked, before turning to Cesil who energetically joined them. "So, what do you know of this ward, Kurtz?" he asked the man, only nodding in acknowledgement to Cesil's arrival.

"Yes, it happens. Many of the Domescan's seem to have little reverence for the Desert Elves, perhaps due to them being forced to live in a similar nomadic lifestyle since the fall of the Sultana..." He shrugged, before reaching into his side pack, and tossed a pair of ear plugs to Haze. "Remember, one must be prepared..." He smirks back at the young man. "So, you're saying you didn't have earplugs after we hit that first trading post?" He raised his brows. "I'm amazed you still have your hearing, hahaha." he laughs, before Cesil joined them. "No, I'm taking him to the wall in question now my Lady." He replied, before pausing before a carving of stone set into the wall, looking almost exactly like every other carving on the wall. "You see, I was looking over the patterns of Domescan here and there, when I realized they just... suddenly repeated. Its similar to how a hastily printed book repeats an entire page of dialogue, so it seemed well out of place to those who do not understand ancient Domescan Script, as it all looks the same at a glance." He continued, placing his hand on the wall. "I tried to force it, pushing against the stone when I was met by a ephemeral force pushing me back!" He chuckled, pushing the stone wall, only for a glowing blue glyph projecting from the wall now, and ancient Beijionese script rotated in the floating space. "Now... is where you come in, my handy samurai friend~"

"That is unfortunate..." he sighed. He caught the objects that were tossed his way, and looked them over. He chuckled softly. Earplugs. He didn't bother giving Kurtz a response about that before being lead to the wall in question. As the scholar said, it looked no different to any other mural in this throne room, till he began placing pressure upon the wall itself. The floating, glowing blue glyph was indeed in Beijionese Script... but what was scary, was a family name was signed within the Glyph... the name of his mother's ancestor. "Beijiosaki..." he says gently under his breath, blinking. He could see that this magic ward was created by three individuals- Galaerion The Golden Blade, Istion The Golden Sword, and Shogun Daichi Beijiosaki... Galaerion was the double agent within Abdel's ranks, the one who ultimately died and was absorbed by Abdel during the course of the war in 2282. The three must have came here and sealed this hidden passage before the Teronian's death... but what troubled him more than the thought of 'why' his ancestor had been present within this keep during the war, was... what were they trying to seal away?

He takes a closer look at the glyph. It was a ward of protection, similar to what Beijionese Monks practice in his homeland, but it was one of the most popular barriers of spirit energy he ever seen. There was a warning engraved upon the glyphs as well, and he traced his hand through their ethereal glow as he read them aloud:

"We three have weakened and sealed the Left Hand of the Black Emperor. Never again shall he be able to seek their guidance... The secret to his rise in power, his dark lineage is not worth seeking. Turn back... for only death awaits beyond this gate...turn back."

He said these words with some reverence. If this was truly the mark of his ancestor, then he had a feeling that the only reason why the glyph managed to show itself was because its spiritual energy resonated with Haze's... with Takeshi's ki. If he was not with these adventurers, this glyph may not have even shown itself at all. He had a very bad feeling about this...

Cesil smirked as Haze was able to read the script. "Oh, so thats what it says huh? Doesn't seem very intimidating of a warning does it?" She chuckled, patting the Beijionese kid's shoulder. "So, now we need to figure how to open it. You think you can break it's seal?" She asked, leaning close. "I mean, if you can read it, it stands to reason you may see something we can't, right? Mess with the glyph a little, as I get a feeling we won't be able to physically blast our way through this one." Cesil sighed, shrugging her shoulders.

Abdel's Throne Room Empty Re: Abdel's Throne Room

"Fascinating..." Kurtz began taking notes when he hear Cesil give her two cents worth. He nodded in the positive with Cesil. "I agree with Lady Freemoon, such a complex glyph would be wasted as a barrier if the barrier can be easily overwhelmed by brute force alone or by simply going around it. Even so, we don't have the time or supplies for either- only enough handheld explosives to clear away debris, really, and it would be such a waste to disintegrate ancient Domescan heritage for only a handful of mummified cats." He explained. "We could very well be leading ourselves to something dreadfully mundane, or, as the glyph's warning suggests, perhaps a wealth of dark knowledge, but I highly doubt there will be anything glittering and golden beyond this passage now unless its a decorated hall. We don't have many accounts of the Black Emperor's palace these days save from those who are alive to have seen it." He sighed.

He claps a hand on Haze's other shoulder. "I vote to proceed. But, we shall do so with an air of caution. I would not consider these scribblings as dangerous as the threat its trying to convey to us, but... I do take it as a threat regardless." He explained, putting his book away again. He turned to Cesil. "Perhaps the others should return, if there is danger beyond this wall it would be best to enter as a team."

The Beijionese Samurai looked sharply in Cesil's direction, then to Kurtz as the scholar agreed to proceed. Haze fidgets uncomfortably between both scholar and thief. "I... don't know. I'm getting a bad feeling about it, we should leave it be. I mean, look at it- a Ward was put in place by the Beijionese, a sworn enemy of the Black Emperor. They went through the trouble of sealing this passage for a reason. Within his own home! Don't either of you find that foreboding? I mean, its like having a stranger sneak into your house and brick off a room to keep you from accessing. What purpose does anyone have to do that? Unless of course they feared something was worth the trouble." He explained his unease.

Cesil nodded to Kurtz. "Yeah, sounds good. I'll grab them, so don't push on without me!" She sounded excited, and was turning around when she heard Haze speak:

She glanced over her shoulder at him and frowned. "Don't tell me your taking up that desert flea's superstitious habits? Of course it sounds foreboding, its supposed to! You don't put up a sign in front of your house saying 'beware of dog' if you got nothing of value within! Its a cheap security measure, if not overly flashy." She closed her eyes, and waved her hand, dismissing him. "You're a merc! I hired you for muscle, and your skills, not your opinions. We didn't get this far only to leave empty handed, I don't care if the passage is completely empty- we are pushing forward." She grunts, her eyes lidded before she walked off to find the others.

Kurtz nodded with Cesil again. "Well, a sign depicting 'beware of dog' may also just be warning people not to foolishly walk in their yard in fear of being sued, but... what Cesil says is true." He paused, taking a step forward, gently grabbing the swordsman's shoulders turning him towards him so he could continue, and try to put the young man at ease. "But I get what you are saying Master Hazesword, I do. To put so much effort in such a protective ward has me believing that they did so because there is something beyond this wall! This passage could very well contain the dark secrets of the Black Emperor; secrets that have faded into obscurity or even into oblivion. A wealth of information or even technology lost to time. In either way you see it, what is beyond is undoubtedly priceless." He explained.

The young man frowned, looking down at his feet- torn between the decision. If I never left Beijio I'd be making heavy decisions like this almost daily as a ruler of Beijio... why, why does this just feel so wrong though? As a mere man, not a Prince? He thought, looking at his open palms, clenching them tightly.

He inspects the glyph again, reaching out for it and set his hand through it. Reading it. Slowly absorbing the spiritual energy that made up the powerful barrier's source of energy...

Post  Ghost of the Past Wed Mar 06, 2019 12:04 am

"The way is shut.... It was made by those long dead, and the dead must keep it.... The way is shut.... Turn away while you still can...." a faint whisper on the now cold air whistled through the ears of those present. before a hzy old mist formed around the feet of the intruders of the ruins.

Emerging from the now awakening energies of the seal came the face of one nobody had seen in three centuries.

Abdel's Throne Room Clone_Zero_Avi_4

"You will find no riches or rewards, no fame or fortunes beyond these seals... The only thing you will find is damnation for you and the entire planet of Galiavan... For that was the price the black King Abdel Adham was willing to pay for power... And that debt has not been forgotten by those beyond this seal..."

Cesil had returned from her brief step out of the throne room, as Saren and Foxfire were not too far away thankfully. She looks over to Haze with a raised brow, who looked pale and as if he was being haunted by some unseen force. Probably his nerves. Still too green around the gills. He's gotta learn with risk comes reward... She placed a hand on her hip and blinked in silence. "Hey, Haze. Stop day dreaming and break that seal already! The time you're wasting is the time we could be using to pilfer what lies ahead of us clean of value!" She groaned, now folding her arms across her chest.

The young man stepped backwards, his eyes wide at the apparition who gave him his warnings. "Whoa! You guys see-?" He turned to them, and noticed both Cesil and Kurtz were looking at him with mix confusion and irritation (the latter mostly with Cesil). He blinked, turning from them, to the ghost again. He didn't feel good about this at all, he was going to look sun stroked at this point... "We... really shouldn't. My senses are telling me to turn back, and forget this place..." He began, bowing his head, closing his eyes. "What lies beyond this door... is death. A warrior of my people made this barrier, and I intend to keep his final wish..." he says, turning to them with a sharp gaze. "Thats what the barrier says... we should look for something else of value, that we should... but this doorway? Its not worth the risk. You want in, you can find somebody else. I'm not laying the lives of the team at risk to play with fire." He says, turning away. "If you don't like it? I quit. Keep the damn cash, there's plenty of other work a guy with a sword can find..." He says, hand on his scabbard.

The form of the spirits of the dead began to shimmer, and shine, becoming more visible and less transculent, until it fully formed into the spectral form of the person who was once Galaerion.

"Why do you stand before us, in this accursed place?" the ghost asked the small team of adventurers.

Saren, unable to see the fantastical things Haze could, but still agreed with how... off this place felt smiled. "Aye, I'm with the lad. There's been something botherin' me about this place since we got here." The big Scardian says, patting the young samurai's shoulder. "Oi, lets leave and get a drink boyo... you are old enough to drink, right?" He asked, ignoring the party leader. "Oi, Fire, you want in? Could use some lovely company." He winked. He was unable to see the ghost that appeared, nor was he able to hear them...

Cesil's jaw dropped at Haze's declaration. "What? You're just going to walk away?!" She turned to Kurtz, and yanked his pistol from his holster and pointed it at the young swordsman! "You asshole!" She spat, her arm quivering. "I didn't come all this way, just to walk away!" She screamed. "I didn't hire you all... just for a damn picnic... you're going to open this damn seal, or I will kill you where you stand!" She threatened... even as Saren joined him. "You too...?" She gasped, her voice weak and gravelly. She felt tears begin to well. She turned to Kurtz. "Are you going to quit too?" She turned to the elf. "How about you, you desert flea? You going to up and leave because this kid doesn't want to get his hands dirty?!" She turned the gun back to Haze, her free hand on her gladius. "I'm not leaving here... till we open that damn door. I paid you all for this, pulled strings... some of you would still be in cells at the Raider Camp if not for me!" She shrieked, her eyes filled with betrayal turned darker... rage filled. "You will open this door Haze, all of you are going to help or I will make certain all of you won't leave here alive! We have more than just personal glory and wealth on the line here... I most of all." She says, almost saying too much. She couldn't reveal the man in the black coat and fedora, that smiley fucker who ordered her on this mission. She had to complete it, she was going to be paid handsomely for completing the job... but failure... he was very adamant that she did not fail... that Raiding Party would force her back into their group... and not as a thief.

Her hand shook, the gun rattling. "I said too much... open the damn door Haze." She says, more calmly, but coldly.

Like the others, save Haze, she could not hear or see the Ghost trying to question them... putting the pressure on Haze further.
