The bartender nodded twice, once for Jace, then again for Ness. He quickly provided a double shot brandy and scotch to jace and went back to polishing glasses.

Jace slowly took the glass, looking over his shoulder slightly at the little demoness who granted him his drink, before turning to face the bar again and drank in his gift. He heard that there was a gang in this town, something stupid, Red Star, or something like that. He thought if he managed to clean up, he may be able to get back on the saddle again, rip them off and sell the merch elsewhere. He set the glass down, closing his eyes and heavily sighed. "Bartender? Could you tell me if there is any work available in this village? I'm not looking for something long term or that hands out too much cash; just something to help me get through this 'funk' I've found myself in till I can think clearly again." he asks the man, tipping back his glass again, though for a shorter period than before.

The barkeep looked at Jace, almost scrutinizingly. "POlenty of odd jobs around the village son, but your best bet is to speak to Vodvelk Greywatch, the village leader. With the recent events of today, I'm pretty sure he's lookin' for some able bodied lads for security escort work, maybe even scoutin'. Otherwise, your best bet would be Cretu."

Jace nodded, finishing up his drink rather quickly. "Heh, well odd jobs are just the thing a guy like me needs." he says standing up, setting down a few coins regardless of the free drink. "You wouldn't happen to have a razor I can use to shave with, would ya? I'd hate to arrive to an interview looking like this..." he says, waving his hand about him.

The bartender took the money into the till, and came back with a straight razor.



"Bathrooms are to the side there. Soap and towels are in there" the barkeep replied. "Keep the razor." he added.

Jace took the blade, looking it over, and chuckled. "Heh, never knew you country folk were so kind." he says in a sarcastic, yet cheery manner, spinning it between his fingers as he made his way over to the bathroom.

While in there, he looked at the razor, and after looking long in the mirror, he turned the faucet and began to shave. After he was finished, he snapped the razor closed, and washed up and straightened his clothing and appearance. Though ordinary, it was sharpened well and could come in handy later down the road. Pocketing his 'gift', he stepped out of the bathroom and nodded to the Barman, looking cleaner now. "Thanks again!" he chuckled, and began to make his way through town.

Tsushi who had been out in these parts for a few days now made her way over to the bar shortly after the young man around her age left. "What was that all about?" she asked the barman in a low husky tone, taking a seat at the bar while depositing the exact amount of Gilex for a shot of whiskey.

The barkeeper looked back at Tsushi for a moment, then back at the door Jace disappeared through. "Kid wanted to borrow a shaving razor. But once you use a razor, it may as well be yours, so I gave it to him." The barkeeper shrugged his shoulders before assembling the lady's drink.

He placed the shotglass before Tsushi, and took the money.

Tsushi's eyes became lidded as she took the glass. "Not...exactly what I meant by that." she replied, cradling the glass in her left hand, half turning to the door where the kid had left. She took a quick sip from the glass. She turned to the barman again, her eyes still lidded. "What was he on about before that? I caught you mentioning something about heading to the headman's place..."

"Hmm? Well, he mentioned he was looking for some freelance work. Just some odd jobs or something to tide him over" the barkeeper replied evenly. "He seems awfully eager to make a good impression on Vod for some reason."

"Hmm, that is peculiar." she says, taking back the shot a little more, sipping it evenly. She leaned back, looking towards the door. "I wonder... as for Vod... I'm curious how that man is holding up with his heir sitting in Cretu Medical." She says, tipping back the rest of her drink and then sets it down. "Hmm... Perhaps I should go and check in as well. I originally came here delivering gunpowder, but I can't just leave without knowing the headman's not going to go postal." she says standing up, turning for the door.

The barman sighed. "The headman is always going postal..." he grumbled. "His last son and heir is in Cretu Hospital's ICU, the village is in an uproar. SOMETHING happened in Ithteca that could be seen from here, half a world away, and we got a man-eating titan dragon on the loose. Not to mention all the strange shit that's been happening worldwide for the past few weeks. You ask me, I think the world is ending... This is even WORSE than the Sephiroth wars."

The sound of dragon made her pause. She turned, blinking. "Wait, I was sleeping in when everything happened, when was a dragon involved? Do you have a description of it? Any distinguishable markings?" she asked, approaching the bar again, slamming her good hand down, causing the glass to rattle.

The barman eyed Tsushi warily. "How can anyone sleep through all that?" he asked at first before shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head. "Nevermind, I don't wanna know. But to answer your question; it was the Dragon of the Gods Step. The largest and most distinguished dragon in the region. Why?

Tsushi frowned, rubbing her head. "I... had a bit of a rough time last night..." she then changed her demeanor and frowned. "Never mind that, tell me: does this dragon have a scar across one of its eyes, specifically the left eye? And is it about the size of a large bus? Please, you must tell me what you know of this beast!'

"I couldn't say ma'am. I never saw the beats myself. The only one who laid eyes on the thing was Jarrod Graywatch, the lats son of the chief. And unfortunately, he just got shipped to Cretu hospital ICU. Poor kid was damn near dead..."

Nifaen, sitting at the edge of the bar, turned to listen more of the details of the dragon, having found little else in entertainment since the one lad got his ass handed to him by that big fella in a black cape and hood. She also noticed her ale was getting low, so perhaps the info would make do with filling her curiosity for the time being.

THE NEXT MORNING:

Edgar descended into the bar and bistro area of the Hotel and approached the desk. He placed the bag full of copious amounts of platinum, gold and silver bullion bars.

"I need to make an immediate private booking. I need to prepare a feast fit for a War Godess in this place as soon as is possible."

The clerk at the desk looked up from the hige, topless man, down at the bag, then back up at the man "I.. I'm sorry sir! We need at least 24 hours notice to..."

"I will pay the advanced fair, but I need immediate action now... this is an emergency." Edgar stated, as he tapped the bag, with nearly doubled it's size as he transferred more bars from the Ithteca Mine he helped Morgana locate.

"I... I'll see what can be done, sir... We still owe you for removing Dez's thugs yetserday." said the clerk, as he went into a back room.

Ness followed Edward downstairs, and after he was concluded with his business with the barman, went to ask him. "So...when will we know she's here? The legends...never really go far into describing her other than saying she's a beast kin... and there are several species of beast kin..." she added, looking about. "I...can hardly believe I'm going to meet a legendary seamstress and armorer..." she smiled. "This is gonna be exciting!" She chuckled.

Cat drifted down the steps for the first time, having a look at her new surroundings. She found the bar and restaurant...charming as she made her way down its steps leading up from the Inn. She could see some people looking her way, and immediately turned away, looking towards Ed and Ness, before approaching them. For two days since she left Edgar, since she 'died the first time', she's had nothing but the smell of death and vomit in her nose. Now she was taking in the scent of beer, mead and salt and heated oil. Her stomach growling softly as she approached Ed and Ness. "So, this is what the down stairs looks like... rustic yet, strangely modern at the same time."

Naru carefully crept down the stairwell as well, but instead of drawing toward Ed, decided to look for a place for they could sit. "Hey Ed, I can have Ale again, no?" She asked from one of the booths again.

Ed smiled down at Nessvyn's exuberance. "I'll know when she's here. I have sensed her mind, so I'll know when she is here" Ed answered as he began placing water, finger food, and other necessary items around the tables, psionically.

"Indeed. The styles are similar to Earth in many ways,. but a mix of modern and various stages of history. You should have seen the Italian restaraunt in Ithteca the day I arrived. Spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread was to die for."

"It's a feast, Naru, a party. You can have whatever you want that they have got." Ed replied with a grin. "But don't strike out too heavy, we still gotta go to Cretu remember?" Ed said with a wink as he started to think a party to loosen up was just what Dr.Ed ordered.

Ness raised a brow at this, and realized she still didn't understand this Edward quite well. She knew he was a demon of sorts from their first encounter on the day Jarrod and Fiona were attacked. But there was still quite a bit left she had no clue about him. Yet, regardless, she was drawn to their cause, if not only to help seam their clothes and meet a legendary demi-goddess. She chuckled, shrugging before helping Edward out.

Cat blinked. "They have... Italian food? There is a God." she chuckled, before adding. "And not fair, I've been here for only a short while, and I've only had chocolate and raw snake, it's not right to tease me like that, Ed!" she exclaimed, playfully punching his shoulder. Still despite it all, she was glad to see someone she knew and could recognize on this alien planet. Still though...there was the question of how Ed could help her return. She was given a gift it would seem, one she did not understand. Ed would have to be the one who would teach her. He'd have to.

Naru chuckled. "No worries, I won't get like last night." She then turned towards Catherine and Ness. "Come on over and sit down, order a drink or two." she says before leaning back. She felt somewhat naked without her sword to be honest, but she had those firearms she found off the yummy Fong and inside that bunker yet. And despite Fong, she was still hungry herself.
