"My Empress, the interloper from Black Anubis has been terminated. And the message to her little group has been sent."

"Very well. Resume operations, and keep Edgar's progress focused. He did not know this mortal, thus any deviation she would have provided has been eliminated. be vigilant, for I sense many other.... unfortunate deviations may present themselves."

Plucked from the holster chain before the creatures eyes. "Heh, a little light reading back in my libraries" the monster said, before the book faded in a pale green light, and disappeared.

Korwa, pokes her head from the side of a tree, ears drooped and her spirits low. She had just barely been able to hide her presence thanks to her divine skills. She was just heading off to bathe in the nearby spring when the world...was no long the world. What ever happened though, she was not involved as it would seem. She only got vague images of something large taking someone before returning and vanishing again.

She made her way down to the area in question, her large ears stiff and alert, listening for the possibility of an ambush when she came across merely a pile of tattered clothing. She raised a brow, lifting the gold and gauzy garments. "Hrm... a bit too garish for my tastes..." she admits, letting it drop from her hands before standing up again. "Peculiar... perhaps I should travel away from Scardia for a time..." she figured, stroking her chin. As it was, with Dragons eating villagers and monsters appearing as of late, it was perhaps best to strike it out elsewhere. "I'll have to move the collection first..." she mumbled, frowning...

Korwa was amused by the introduction, and decided she could use some more amusement. As for if these beings may pay the toll... she would soon find out. Curious to know how he came upon the Librarian's precious book. Still though, from the sound of the being's tone, she was guessing he was debating about using the tome as the bargaining chip...how little good that would do her, as she knew much about most and needed not to learn most about much that she wasn't in need to know about. She grinned, however, walking along the forested path to make her way to the village.

Now wandering the woodlands of deep Scardia, the Countess was psychically searching for the missing Scribe and Black Mage. I fear the worst, but I can smell her possessions... and something foul as well. I may have reason to believe that her current form may not be as useful as it had been before. I smell death... and only speckled bits of her soul like weak strands of silk.

Underfoot, the Elder has stepped upon gold jewelry and accessories worn by Knight Deathcaller. They were pristine, delicately removed items that were clear in the darkness for the stars glinted off the metallic surfaces. They were valuable, so clearly whomever had removed them had not cared for their material value, simply discarding them as a teen would with their dirty laundry about the surface of their bedroom.

An acrid stench would assault the Countess' nose, and as she followed its trail, her inner thoughts would be answered correctly:

Tessa's skull lay among a pile of filth, mixed with her bleached white bones. Still draped with black, slimy hair, poor Tessa's expunged remains lie upon the forest floor in a broken heap of bones and filth.

"Elder..." came a sweet tone from behind, the young Knight Apostle having returned from her camp not to far away, having found her former instructor's skeletal remains first. Fitting, yet harrowing for Hinako Mizaki, codename: 'Lilith', all the same...

"I gave word to the Guild of my departure in search of Dark Knight Deathcaller, but I guess you must have departed before news of such arrived. Forgive me Elder, but as you know, Tessa and I were close." she says, bowing solemnly.

The Countess turned to face Hinako, and nodded gently. "Lilith... I see you have found your mentor before me."

She turned fully to the Apostle and gently raised her head by her chin, their red eyes meeting. "I understand. No need to fret over it my child. Tessa will be missed... however there is a slight chance we can revive her." She began, turning to face the bone pile once more. "I know not how damaged her soul is, but if there is some remnants or trace elements, we can utilize one of the precious stones to bring form back to her remains." she continued, removing a philosopher's stone from her bag.

She inspected Tessa's corpse, she doubted all the bones were accounted for, but it didn't really matter with a stone equipped for the ritual. "We can only imagine her mind, her sanity having been fractured if her distress message is of any note to make before her death. Though I admit, it is odd to see the remains in such a manner. They appear to be months old, yet clearly she is freshly deposited... the creatures of 'the beyond' are most frightening indeed..." she remarked, holding the stone out and above Tessa's bones.

She then paused, before turning to the Apostle again. "Lilith, do you wish to perform the ceremony? Perhaps it would be best left to the hands of a skilled mage than a Vampire like myself." She asked.

Hinako looked up at her, with a look of hope mixed with confusion, for such a thing to be performed within the guild, to a fallen sister, was generally rare given the 'cost' of using one of the precious stones or elixirs one could use to revive even the longest lain dead. "Are you sure my Lady? Such an act would do both the fallen Deathcaller and myself a great honor." she bowed again, before rising to her feet, approaching the Elder by her side, laying her hand on top of the Countess' hand which gripped the stone.

She looked to the Elder for support, then turned to Tessa's bones. She closed her eyes, and began to speak in the ancient dialect, beginning the first leg of the incantation using the mana from the Elder's body as a base, and used herself a circuit between Tessa, the Countess and the stone.

She nodded to the young one, before closing her eyes as well. Channeling their energy through the stone, the red light of the gleaming gem radiated across the skeletal remains. If there was a chance, the fractured strands of Tessa Deathcaller's soul would be enough to fuel her body, while the stone repaired her equally fractured skeleton, flesh and muscle lost in digestion. As for the Dark Knight's mind, none could say how she would react, or if she would simply remain a lifeless shell once the ritual was complete...

The power shined from the stone, irradiating the skeletal remains with a ruby light. It would take a while, but the bones would begin to reform in their proper places, those missing would grow back. Then, like layers, tissue, muscle, organs, skin... Tessa's body would reform. She would hope the soul fragments would bind, and the soul's flame be restored.

Tessa's remains were 'reborn' but her consciousness had yet to return. She lay there, naked and breathing once again though, no longer a pile of bones and filth. "There," Lilith exhales, sighing with some relief now that her mentor was back and in the flesh... pun intended. She turned to the Countess with a small bow of her head. "I shall take over for Deathcaller here my lady. She would have wanted me to do so."
