Spire Beta, and the 2nd Hellgate (Asrond Fortress)

With a sudden rush of insurmountable energy, a huge towering stone structure burst from the ground.
 

 
The eerie blue/green runes pulsed with unholy power, and immediately the spire burst forth and coalesced a beam of power from it's apex at the ground a few dozen meters from it's base. The beam produced the first of many Hellgates in the area.
 

 
Once the portal had been established, within moments, legions upon legions of monsters and horrors of every shape, size and type into this dimension....

Meru was taking in the view when the cat woman felt and watched the tower rise from the ground, displacing wreckage and vehicles long since forgotten and left to rot anyways. In this rotting modern ruin, she found the rising tower a rather peculiar marvel. As she drew closer she hugged her body low to the ground and observed with the utmost cat like curiosity and stealth. There was some portal of sort that appeared near by and it glowed with such an eerie crimson light. She was particularly quiet throughout all of this, and slowly began to make her approach to it after slipping herself off the roof and into the shadows below.

Once Meru reached the ruined city outskirts, she could see into the delapitated structures, hollowed out by decades, even centuries of disuse, had been decimated by the emergence of the tower, and the subsequent appearance of the portal structures.. At the foot of the monolithic spire was a portal of stone flame and blood. and monsters, demons, undead and cybernetic monstrosities of every kind in their thousands were amassing, emerging from the portal by the dozens.

A very large monster wearing smooth and jagged jet black armor standing close to 30 feet in height and carrying what would look like a massive rotary artillery piece was barking orders in a language she would not understand, and with a tone that was authorative and demanding.

"Get this rabble forming ranks immediately. This is a new dimension, and shall be our back door to many universe our Prince blocked up! Get everyone ordered up!"

Immediately the lesser captains got the rest of this horde ordered up in a rapid pace.

The head captain was scanning this new world with immortal eyes.

He singled out a group of smaller monsters, short, lithe and fast, and with a single motion of his hand, they scattered, moving towards the lands beyond ruins with inhuman speed and precision. Scouts.

the rest were either setting up some sort of base camp and fortifications, or separated into groups and lined up for assignment. it all looked militaristic, and very well planned by trained and disciplined troops. Except these troops were of horrendous monsters from the stuff of nightmares.

She kept herself in the shadows, but her bright neko eyes couldn't help but observe from this range. She decided to chance herself and moved in closer. What had started out as a treasure hunt became a spy mission. Her tail snaked about behind her and she approached with caution; while the hog demons she ran from were predictable...these guys were something new all together.

The large leader stopped suddenly, as it's crimson eyes flashed alight with unhol light. It's terrifying gaze swept the area with detailed scrutiny. The monster could "sense" sentient mortal life nearby.


After sweeping by Meru once, the Battle Lord's eyes turned back upon her, and remained steady. A viscious looking sneer crossed the demon's features, even as the creature raised it's right hand, palm facing Meru, then with the simple gesture of closing his clawed hand into a tight fist, several monsters detached from the growing legion, and opened fire.

Several Cybernetic mutants opened fore with their arm mounted 5.56mm twin barrelled machineguns.



These were soon joined by 2 much larger hulking cybernetic monstrosities that proceeded to stagger fire their rail cannons in synch with eachother.



And finally, one of the most insidious creations was in fact undead, a huge 8 foot walking skeleton, armed with shoulder mounted soul-seeker missile launchers began to launch their deadly payloads at the detected life-force signal

Did curiosity kill the cat? ALMOST. Staying low to the ground and scrambling as fast as she could behind cover when given the young cat woman leaped and rolled and jumped to avoid getting shot at. "Wha-what the hell?!" she cried out as one of those rockets seemed to be just keeping up with her. She tripped over a trash can, rolling onto her back she turned to her right and grabbed the lid, thrusting it at one of the missiles before rolling back onto her feet and was diving into the remains of a one story building. She panted and wheezed, not sure what the hell was going on with those guys, but their weapons were surely quite open to saying hi.

The sneer on the battlelord's face turned into a savage grin, even as he waived up a lumbering hover vehicle.



The, the creature spoke in a deep, guttral voice, in a language not heard from on Galivan before today.

{"Destroy the mortals hiding place, flush her out or cook her alive in there, I don't care, but she will not escape us!"} the monster cast it's orders, and the barrel of the hover tank levelled at the building, before projecting a titanic blast of crimson plasmatic energy. The roiling ball of plasma slammed into the side of the structure mere instance later, exploding with violent force and extreme temperature.

Suddenly, the wooden structure, drying and rotten from eighteen years of disuse went up like a candle. "Shit!" she cried. The flames were intense and hot, and despite the need to stay inside and away from those outside...she had no desire to be cooked inside the wretched inferno. She quickly ran, and jumped through another window, rolling onto the ground trying her best to supress her coughing fit caused by the thick acrid smoke. "I'm...getting out of here..." she thought, crawling on all fours away from the building towards an alley.

The Battle Lord's immortal eyes tracked her, even through the debris of stone, wood and metal of the ruins. a feral predatory grin grew. He began projecting his psychic capabilities.

"Do you truly believe you can escape, mortal? There is nowhere you can run that we cannot chase you, no place you can hide where we cannot find you, no heroes or weapons that can save you. Welcome to HELL!" And with that psychic taunt, the monsters own twin gattling cannons spun up, and began firing rapid impulse energy beams at over 6000 RPMs each, ripping through the debris with such ferocity, it kicked up the ruins several meters into the air at each impact point. The equivelant of 50mm ammunition, enough to rip apart well maintained armored fortification, nevermind delapitated and abandoned ruins.

Meru screamed, covering her cat ears, her tail dipping between her legs while the explosive beams ripped through the debris overhead. She could feel the house beside her fall apart and split upon weak foundations. "Stop! Stop!!" she cried, her heart beating at a mile a minute, her fear rising. She guessed she was lucky that the beams hadn't hurt her, but now she was completely exposed to the fire and bullets. She knew she had to move, keep moving-staying still would only assure her death!

She suddenly jumped, running against the length of the wall before leaping onto the roof of a building, at this height, she was almost level with the 30 foot giant. She didn't have any ranged weapons, but she kicked up a glass bottle with her foot and kicked it-the glass soared towards the creature's face hitting it's right eye. She then went back to running again.

The Battle lord saw the bottle long before it reached him, and with an irritated flick of the creatures wrist, he swatted the offending object out of the sky, the glass shattering against the tough leathery hide of it's palm.

"That was a mistake, mortal!!" the creature roared loudly, as the canons rotated around and upward, exposing another, larger barrel  beneath each one. When the creature fired this time, it wasn't the blisteringly fast energy pulses, but the deep base throbbing of large plasma bursts that travelled in a huge arch. Once they hit ground, they exploded like large artillery shells striking their targets.

Foom.... Foom... Foom... Foom

The repeated sounds of large scale shots contined to chase the cat woman around the ruins, demolishing everything she dashed through or tried to use as cover.

Foom.... Foom... Foom... Foom

The repeated sounds of large scale shots contined to chase the cat woman around the ruins, demolishing everything she dashed through or tried to use as cover.

The defenseless Meru runs and screams as plasma energy rained downed upon her, exploding in large plumes of smoke and destruction. She runs and jumps, just grabbing onto the edge of a building when the explosive plasma lands upon the opposite end of the building, nearly vaporizing it. The section she was clawing onto with her gilded gauntlet like gloves started to fall back, and the screaming neko fell into a cloud of smoke and debris. She was somehow lucky to be alive, trapped under the debris...

She tried to use this to her advantage though...if he thought she was dead...perhaps...perhaps she could very well make it out of here alive. She remained still, and very quiet while blood and sweat ran down the curves of her body.

The Battlelord stopped firing and observed for a moment. he looked at her surface thoyughts, and could clearly see her life energies.

The creature began cackling like a lunatic, before he ordered 3 of his light guards to go fetch the poor wretch that trapped herself.



The small cybernetic undead scrambled and moved towards Meru's position.

She remained still under the debris, and it was totally quiet after the creatures tell tale cackle...did he buy it? She was going to remain under this pile till he did. That's when her sensitive ears picked up foot falls...they were small and human like...but each had a metallic sway with them, they also seemed a tad heavier than an average humans; but regardless of who or what they belonged to they were getting unnervingly near her position!

She tried her best not to make a single peep when she felt something give in from the debris pile.

With a mechanical click, the 3 former human cyborgs began tigging through the debris with inhuman efficiency and strength, lifting stone and metal wreckage that could have taken days for ordinary men to move, and hours for even superhuman fighters of Galivan hours to do the same, took mere seconds.

in mere moments the debris pile started to loosen and shift, something softer than metal and rocks was beneath, and the androids dug there.

She began to feel the cool air again and suddenly she realized that her tail was now exposed to the outside! She could tell they were digging but she had hoped for them to take longer than usual. By now, her tail was being yanked and she couldn't help but stifle a loud cry as she was efficiently dug out. An act she would have been thankful for if it were in other hands.

The cyborg closest to Meru grasped the tail with a viscious vicelike grip, and yanked as the other 2 androids removed the remaining debris from the target, hoisting Meru into the air by her tail.

"Target secured" the mechanical abomination intoned emotionlessly, then the 3 walked back to the portal site with their prize.

The woman clawed and swung at the three zombie like creatures. She protested and hissed as she was being carried back. "Let go! Let go of me! I was only curious to what was going on over here!" she cries, her tail still in the painful grip. She then noticed that she was getting closer and closer to the portal and that funky tower. "Please...I..I didn't mean...to intrude." she gulped.

"And yet, you snuck in closer when you noticed more than the Spire was here, didn't you, little mortal..." replied that same deep, baritone voice from before.

A very large hand gripped around Meru's body, not painful or tight, but firm enough to prevent any escape, the cyborgs let go of her tail and mindlessly returned to their prior duties, before she was hoisted way into the air. Face to face, with that gigantic Battle Lord!

The monster spoke to her again.

"It would seem curiosity overrides caution for the mortals on this world, wouldn't you say? You are the 2nd person to attempt an infiltration at one of our spires in the hour since we arrived. You creatures are certainly bolder than those from that other universe... But no less foolish it seems..."

The monster spoke to her again.

"It would seem curiosity overrides caution for the mortals on this world, wouldn't you say? You are the 2nd person to attempt an infiltration at one of our spires in the hour since we arrived. You creatures are certainly bolder than those from that other universe... But no less foolish it seems..."

She let out a loud gasp as she was clenched by the giant, and she noted that he wasn't too tight for a beast that was so ready to fire upon her with a cannon ten minutes ago.. She gulped when she was brought to the creatures face...and then took notice of his words. "2nd person?...and another spire? How many of you guys are there? And what do you mean like that other universe? I...I don't understand!" she cried, trying to squirm out of his grasp, her breasts swaying and her knees bending, trying to kick.

The creatures face twisted into a wicked sneer.

"You have no idea what is really going on, do you? Can't you see it?" the creature turned his hand towards the hordes of monsters and demons, towards the portals, and the huge spire behind them. "You didn't think that these are all the forces at our command did you? Oh no... We have spires all over this planet, portals churning the denizens of our domain into your world by the millions, and our stargate bringing forth our fleets of doomships to spread our conquest all across your universe. This is an invasion, and not by just anyone my dear. Your world has officially been invaded by the Hordes of Hell, and not by those pathetic outcasts you call demons and devils that live beneath your feet in some subterranean caves, oh no. Hell, the real Hell, has come for your dimension!"

The monster turned Meru back to face him. "When I said 'Welcome to Hell' I was being quite literal, and very serious, my little kitten..,"

Her eyes widen, widen terribly so that they almost were the size of soft balls. With this kind of power they were talking about...the needed war gods...real war gods like Sephiroth from 18 years ago to take care of this rabble, even then they would still would have an uphill battle...but they were dead. All of them, sealed away forever in their ethereal palace. She shivered, her legs feeling relatively limp. "Oh Gods...Gods no...this can't...can't be real..." she said, her eyes beginning to water; her tail limply folding between her legs again.

"Oh yessss.... More than you ever realise, even your greatest heroes can not prevent this, living or dead. Only one has that power, and he is trapped in his own universe, impotent, yet knowing... He cannot help you, and the heaves refuse to help you. You, and all your kind, lay alone, and naked against the ultimate foe... What can you, and your rag tag little group of cute little gunslingers and demon hunters, with your little toys possibly do against true, ultimate, eternal evil?" The Battle lord's sneer became a sick smirk.

"And, on top of that, we Battle lords? We are far from the strongest of the Horde... Oh yess... our higher classes are far more powerful than myself and my bretheren..."

Which now brought up the question: She gulped. "...What about me? Where am I in the scheme of things?" she asked nervously, almost unable to ask of her own fate now that she was in the Battle Lord's grasp. "What...what happens to everyone else who live here?" she adds, trying her best not to wail.

The Battle lord looked incredulous. "You? You mortals? Well, slavery, eternal torment, a resource to be used, and...." A long thin snakelike tongue suddenly appeared from the Battle Lord's fang filled maw, and licked across his upper teeth lewidly. "... a food source to be consumed"

The Battle lord suddenly started raising Meru higher above his head, dangling her head first over his face. A large grin appeared on the monsters face.
